Dreamkeepers provides assistance to students at risk of dropping out of college due to unexpected financial emergencies. Dreamkeepers assistance was created to help students stay in college and meet their educational goals, ultimately, securing a better financial future.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) units at Cuyamaca College

  • demonstrate satisfactory academic progress by maintaining a minimum overall 2.0 grade point average for all completed college coursework

  • have an educational objective of certificate, degree, or transfer

  • be able to document an extreme personal/financial emergency

APPLICATION PROCESS
Students must complete the online application and submit it along with appropriate documentation to support the request for emergency funds. The Scholarship Specialist will contact you if additional documentation or additional consultation is needed. The Scholarship Specialist will process the application within 24 hours of submission. Your application, academic transcripts and supporting documentation will be used to determine eligibility and, if approved, award amount. Students will be contacted by phone or e-mail after the application review and awarded students will be contacted again when a check is ready for pickup.

NOTE:  As a student at Cuyamaca or Grossmont, you may receive only one Dreamkeepers award at one college (Cuyamaca or Grossmont) per term.  Maximum award amount is $500.  Maximum lifetime award amount is $1500.
 
ASSISTANCE PAYMENTS

If approved for funding, students will receive an award check co-payable to the student and the service provider.  If part of your request is for food or gas, this may be disbursed to you in the form of a gift card.  Students will pick up their check/gift card at the Cashier’s Office and will be available within 72 hours of notice of approval.
